The bigger issue is that AI models are rarely trained to disagree with what you tell them or to make you confront whatever problems you're having, so instead you get a sort of echo chamber where it agrees with you. This works okay for people that just want to vent, but is harmful for people that actually need to discuss their problems and receive help.
>Gender bias was not the only problem, Reuters' sources said. The computer programs also spat out candidates who were unqualified for the position.
At some point you just gotta admit, "This shit be broke".
When a digital artist experiences a power outage, they pick up a pen and paper.
Wham an ai “artist” experiences a power outage, they yell and scream on a street corner, demanding someone to draw for them.
I really believe that if an AI overtook the world, it would be because a human arranged for it to do so. Evil is always within the heart of man, not within computer processing.
Hi, I'm working in a scientific field, and I wanted to provide some context. Scientists aren't really losing their jobs because of AI, at least not in chemistry/physics. AI and machine learning has been used in research for decades, the fact that it's getting better is good for us. Advancements in AI only make our jobs easier, not lower in demand. The Nobel prize wasn't awarded to an AI, it was a…
Calling yourself an “AI artist” is like ordering food and then calling yourself a chef.
We’re only ten years away from Will Smith chasing a Tesla robot with a gun in the streets of Chicago.
As soon as businesses can replace us with AI, they will. No payroll. No Insurance. No pto. No sick pay and no retirement.
Google AI be like: "Yeah, you can safely apply sulphuric acid on your retina to see better 🤓"
Well, we're screwed. The fact that two politicians have now stated using the "it's AI" excuse is the most telling part, AI or not. Every negative video will be called "AI" forever from here on out.
This only predicts potential structures - some or even all of these drugs might not be psychoactive whatsoever, let alone interesting for recreational or medical usage.
The thing is, I’ve had a coworker do something similar. They asked for a report on data we don’t have access to, I tried to explain it wasn’t possible, they then turned around and asked ChatGPT to write the report and sent that to me with instructions to “just clean it up a bit” - I say we can’t use it. They say we can. I then spend hours digging into everything it said and looking for every inst…
It's almost as if we have 40+ years of TV, films and books warning us of the dangers of AI.
I genuinely love how pissed the AI gets whenever Dave brings up his Astro Bot speed run.
People worried that AI will take their job. Meanwhile AI is busy taking much more than just jobs.
My condolences to every asian girl named "Ai"... a really pretty name ruined by problematic technology.
I had an Ai bro tell me generative AI is inclusive to disabled people and to be against it is ableist. I then informed him I was disabled and he told me he'd never buy anything off a crippled artist. They aren't even trying at this point.
I just took a job at a power company. They explained what they need, and how many hours they expect a week.
Its gonna take about a month to automate.
Then 30 seconds a month mobile depositing my check.
Cant wait.
Edit: to those asking about direct deposit and what this job looked like going in.
Its basically data entry from one webpage to another, with some critical thinking that can be hard…
Also uniforms work too. You wear something that looks like you should be doing a thing people will automatically respond to that.
Cultural deprecation. If we fostered a culture of virtue and anti-corruption and shamed people for their unchecked greed and exploitative approach to money making on the backs of illusory growth, we wouldn't have had this vulnerability.
We created our own software vulnerability. Look at our COVID response: 'what about the economy' and people blindly accept it.
The culture is the problem, the va…
