Unsurprising. India (and indians in general) wants desperately for the US to like it. Indians in general clamour to increase their proximity to whiteness routinely (even so far as to bleach their skin) so this is not a shock. It would be more shocking if India stood up for itself against trump and the US, instead of bootlicking
