@david.stachon What am I missing in autopilot's promised capabilities? Here's what Tesla advertises:
Cruise Control: Adjust the vehicle's speed to match surrounding traffic
Autosteer: Assists in steering within a clearly marked lane.
That's all there is to it. If you pay for Extended Autopilot (which I did), you get Auto Lane Change on highways, Autopark and the Summon feature on top.
People in their mind imagine that "autopilot" is kind of an automatic driver that they fully can hand over their vehicle to. Operating under this false assumption, it's no wonder when they get into crashes. Its just a lane assist and cruise control. If you want more, you'd have to get FSD.
