Depends on the model and process. Some models have a distinctive style that most images fall into. NovelAI and many common SD models fall into this category, and you can often tell at a glance if you're familiar with those models, though this tends to be less true of specialized models which can produce essentially perfect, if simplistic, pieces with some effort. A lot of AI art, most of what you see getting reposted, isn't actually a raw generation, but typically a digital piece using AI images as assets. That's heavily edited by a human and will be genuinely indistinguishable from a well-done digital illustration because a human has to sign off on every detail. The fact there are so many instances of twitter artists (falsly) calling out other artists for using AI demonstrates that there isn't actually much consistency, and there will be less in the future.
