What could solve the self driving cars getting confused is if they had their own lane, like a bus lane, so they are only trained to follow the markings on the self driving lane.
People would get on and off at designated drop off points. You could even connect several cars together to share the pulling load. Hell, if theyre in one designated lane, you could fix the car down to that lane somehow, and instead of rubber wheels, you could have metal ones on a metal rail to be more efficient.... oh damn we're back to trains and trams. 😂
