OK this is some end stage capitalism hellscape insanity. First of all monetizing a writing challenge, yes it's nonprofit but... really reads as counterintuitive to the creative process and the goal of just getting more people to write, dammit. The closing of the forum but insisting that nothing was going wrong is just basic corporate obfuscation. Then to start advocating for AI because you're sponsored by an AI company is just brazen in the most shameless capitalist way. Then the statement on AI use itself is just incredible. It's classist because some people can't afford an editor? (Am I wrong or isn't the point of this to write something, anythinh regardless of quality?) Then the cherry on top is that there are typos and grammatical errors throughout, which means the AI sponsor sucks, i.e. makes a bad product, because either it didn't catch these errors or the writer didn't use the product because they know it's bad. Incredible.
