So, I tend to like Ai Art personally. I thought I would try and explain why you are getting back lash. Often Anti-AI arguments come off as a personal attack to those that are aligned with the technology. Kind of similar to if you are a fan of a show and then someone just comes along and start trash talking the show. Not only do they trash talk the show but explain how your a stain on humanity for liking it. To me Ai is an amazing thing. So trying to poison it, trying to destroy what has been built feels similar to watching people graffiti the statue of David. The conflict over AI art is not a purely logical one both sides are primarily driven by emotions. If I am being honest in my heart of hearts I would love it if artists were paid for contributing to AIs. The problem is honestly art is expensive and if they paid for each piece to recuperate their costs would result in a product that is far too expensive. Also my opinion on the copyright system is complicated. The current system is way too aligned with corporate copyright holders. Abolishing it might be a bit excessive though. An idea I was floating around is the concept of a public buy out. Essentially a ceiling on copyright in terms of profit. Once you are past the ceiling the public has effectively bought the rights from you moving it into public domain. That would enable people to make fan art of very popular media and if it isn't popular enough just support it even harder until it is. So anyway that is me on my soap box, I will get off now.
