Instead of trades, we need people building robots. Take your tech skills and upskill into robotics. We don't have enough robotics engineers. Software is very oversaturated, but hardware is something AI will struggle with since it doesn't have a sense of physical space (for now anyways). DO NOT GO INTO THE TRADES. There was a good reason why your parents pushed you into white collar. Find a way to take your knowledge and pivot. Knowledge work is the future. Trades are for people who don't want to do knowledge work. You will be in for a rude awakening and you will hate your job.
