I think companies are being blocked or holding back on agents that can vibe code with you by taking over your mouse and keyboard. Like, I’m copying and pasting all of these things in Unity, I get close to what I want on step 3/7 in my project (that GPT knows perfectly well how to do solo given my prompt), toggle a few more permissions, go to reboot Unity, and something clashes/crashes. The agent could self-diagnose and try many routes until achieving my prompt (which it understands). I have the feeling the biggest companies have that, but are just afraid of either getting sued by users over data and privacy issues, or governments realize that’d be too powerful a tool to release all at once. I’ve heard experts try to explain things away by saying AI tends to run too broadly/do more than you asked for, or too narrowly/try to skimp on compute. But looking at the outputs from my vibe sessions, no, GPT got the path and told me to do everything right, I just lost patience or didn’t do everything perfectly, or had to sleep after all of the typing, toggling, and clicking I had to do that it could’ve done itself.
