I'm a software developer and the company I work for is heavily into AI just like most other companies are. We're tried many things with the best AI models at the moment and they don't really work. We've hit a bit of a plateau with the current LLM models at least, they're being hyped but they aren't really getting much better. LLMs have their use, but they aren't a panacea. They hallucinate constantly and you can't trust anything that comes out of them so that rules them out of 99% of use cases especially in fields like finance where the money is made. I use AI to help me coding, I've been doing it for a few years now and it has gotten better, but it hasn't gotten really any better the last few iterations. It gets things wrong constantly and you can't trust anything it outputs. It saves time on certain areas of coding, but you still need to check every single thing it's written because it gets a lot wrong. It codes currently at a junior level in most cases, so it's like having your own personal entry level junior coder that you can get to do things but fucks most stuff up so you have to check every single thing.
