In 2014, I was laid off from my broadcast "tape-op" job because of a new, "AI" audio production tool was about to be rolled out in 2015. No, it wasn't an LLM, audio production isn't as complex as you might think, it's quite algorithmic, so it's easy enough to make edits and audio quality and edit/transition improvements using automation, but management kept calling it "AI." Now, while I was happy to take the payout and run, I'd had 27 years of deadline pressure and high stakes newsroom production values and was well ready for a rest, and had a good old fashioned annuity, or "super fund" as we call it in Australia, but let me make one thing clear... To the audience of this video... The labour goals of corporate boards isn't to save costs on labour, it's to eradicate labour. They don't care if the product suffers, they just want the workforce gone. It's literally the only cost they can get rid of now, and AI will make that possible. So, when you use ChatGPT or Claude or Suno, et al, you are performing an act of class treachery. If your boss requires you to use tools like these, that's OK, we all have to put bread on the table but, if you're using AI to write a song, or for companionship or to write the Great American Novel, you're selling out humanity. Not in a Skynet way, rather, in a knife in the back way. You are selling out your neighbour, your wife/girlfriend, your mum and dad and worst of all, your kids. If we all stop using AI (where we can, half the time we're not told what apps have it), stop using the chatbots, start thinking for ourselves, even just 25% of us just stop, the AI industry is on such a financial knife-edge, this will kill AI dead. If you're a DJ, use your skills and drop your AI subscription to Suno. If you're a writer, dump your AI writing tool subscription. Ignore the search engine AI summary and USE. YOUR. BRAIN! Because, if you don't, you, or your kids, born or as yet unborn, will starve, or even be hunted - not by AI, but by private security forces. That is the future. AI won't kill you, humans _with_ AI will kill you, at the orders of those who own the AI.
