The image of robots chasing us around and killing us is not the way AI will destroy society. It will be exactly what they are saying...the pathology of capitalism is racing to it's logical conclusion. These people are so mentally ill with greed that they would rather be the top dog in a dystopia versus just being happy with being obscenely wealthy in a functioning society. They won't care about human beings, employment, or having customers to buy their stuff still. They cannot see logically and sanely anymore...the ultra wealthy and eiltes are mentally ill and cannot stop themsleves, much like addicts. They will bring the entire system down until they are literally the last ones standing. They will still be looking for ways to make profits increase on the next balance sheet. That is how sick they are and it is impossible to stop their thinking. So AI will simply be the mechanism that aids them in finishing off society, but the core reason is human greed and pathology run amok. That is what capitalism IS. By definition, it is concern for short term gains with no concern about long term effects. This is the logical conclusion for such a psychotic system and we have no one to blame but ourselves. And it will happen fast....it only took a few years for us to go from flip phones and Blackberries to everyone having a computer in their pocket, running their lives. We are merely at the very beginning of AI and it will take over fast. By 2030, no more jobs, labor and consumer based economy, and if there is no UBI....mass chaos and displacement. Find a way to get out of the US, go live somewhere warm, a place where resources are plentiful (basics) and you can hide out for the remainder of your life. Young people are doomed, I feel bad for them. It's over for all of us for sure.
