BTW - I think part of the lawsuits against AI companies are just big "Art Gulags" (Clipart and $ license markets) wanting more $ - most online things like so-called "Social Media" and the clipart/license galleries HAD "Automated Machine Learning" or similar weasel words since the 00s at least. AND ever wonder why it was so easy to pirate Photoshop? - hint, look for Ai Machine learning/training weasel words - the software you THINK you got cracked just LETS you use it and all your images can be used for training the AIs... YES, even 00s - anyone who grew up with OMNI magazine KNEW this would be possible around this time - Gawdz how STUPID people are these days. IMO the companies of again social media, art gulags, etc. didn't know when OpenAi DID pay them for their use it was something so grand or they'd obviously had asked for more or residuals. So they'll try to get it. Not that a PENNY will go to the artists - at best... So when it gets to court, some companies (Disney, Music companies) might be able to extort a few $ - but any "Artists" in a class action you'd better see what you signed with and if you can GET OUT. Serious -it's likely they'll go "You can win, we'll pay you a few million IF you settle so actually WE win and those fools who signed with you pay us a few HUNDRED million collectively...!" and the lawyers will go "A few million!? Thanks! We don't care about the suckers!" meaning YOU. - serious - it happens with train derailments, they get in a class action and their lawyers "Win" but sign over so THEY pay big time and they get $ taken, bank accounts, property, wages garnished, armed thugs holding guns in their faces and taking their cars from them... If you are signing some "Class action", have a 3rd party look into it (meaning a lawyer) and see if you are liable if they lose or "Win" but the win is for the lawyers and you are the victim to have a judgement of many thousands against you... Artists are FOOLS. Also writers. God help the Poets... I insult myself as much, btw.
