Safety is in quotes because models like Claude 3.7 were not nearly capable enough to pose any semblance of biological threats.
If it was up to people Ilya Sutskever and Helen Toner, even models like GPT-2 would have never been released to the public.
But this makes sense given that Anthropic was strongly influenced by the EA movement. Fortunately they are now trying to distance themselves fro…
When has an image *not* been "fake" to some extent or another?
The lens you choose, the framing, the lighting you do, the color grading you use, etc... all those massively impact the shot. Never mind the whole aspect of photoshop as well!
And all this was long before AI hit the scene.
I’ve been using ai, it’s amazing. I may hate the impact but sure ain’t stopping me.
Random thought: Whats stopping terrorists from using these stupid things as driverless car bombs? I feel like it would be super easy for dueche nozzle Muslim extremists to throw a timed bomb in the trunk of one of these, enter a destination and walk away clean and clear. Are there safe guards in place to keep that from happening? If there are could they not just be hacked or something? I foresee …
Of course animals have rights. They feel pain, they feel loss. Many morn for their dead. Many have been observed making deals or being mischievous.
That doesn't mean that they are our equals. But it means we have a moral obligation to not do unnecessary harm to them when we do what we do.
To put things in perspective: We should treat them the way we would wish to be treated if an alien rac…
This comment is just incorrect- as everything moves towards digital and robotics, many of the “jobs of the future” are actually not even considered as a task for an employee- instead it’s all just going online or to automation.
Using AI is not a sin, it's just another means of gathering information. Accepting the results of an AI query as the absolute gospel truth is a sin. I was surprised by the results and did my own testing so my post is now my opinion not the opinion of AI. That being said do your own testing and draw your own conclusion.
You mean there is more to being a doctor than getting paid a lot and having hot nurses around you? Glad I didn't go to medical school!
"*a study*"
no need to read any further. Just ignore it as the propaganda it is.
While the Earth has warmed, it isn't a crisis. Stories like this are a joke and crumble under scrutiny. Every time.
Does she know what indigenous is? Most people are indigenous to the nations they live in.
I don’t know why software engineers are investing hundreds of hours of their lives building this kind of shit, but they should spend their efforts *trying* to solve world hunger, or something that won’t just lead to the world imploding in on itself like these deepfakes are likely to do, lol
OpenAI has millions of users’ ChatGPT conversations, and generating millions more every month. Far from “none”.
I don’t think they do currently. I think that if/when they do, they will be algorithms. Saying they aren’t X because they’re an algorithm/software is like saying we aren’t conscious or sapient because we’re just a bunch of biochemical circuits or a series of cells shooting proteins at one another.
I'd rather tey use **well trained** LLMs than the old fashioned keyword pickers. I mean, how else is one or two non-technical HR reps going to pick through 500 resumes per 10 open positions in any sort of intentional way?
It's just that the ***training*** is still an emerging technology
> The new rules require platforms to label AI-generated content with markers covering at least 10% of the surface area of a visual display or the initial 10% of the duration of an audio clip
10% is too much. Seems dumb to waste 10% surface area. Maybe 0.5% surface area is enough.
I don't have a problem if India wants to build data centers, but where will they get the power?
I came to this conclusion when CERN said that AI couldn’t observe any of the particles it was trained to observe. Apparently they didn’t go off as expected if humans weren’t watching.
Lmao I'm sure women and children would like to not be raped to death too
Seems India has a lot to work on
china contaminates less than the US per capita. in fact in 2009 each US citizen polluted almost THREE times more than each Chinese citizen
also dont forget china is a country whos only been having money the last few years as opposed to the US thats been #1 when it comes to cash for a very long time. moving to renewable, better regulations and the such take years to establish and are expensive so …
What you enjoy is subjective. Why don't you reprogram yourself to enjoy the AI work instead?
