It still does. Now Image generation just took the collective attention as many considered it the"special human trait".
There are many good things from A.I. from mapping algea growth to protect them, or using A.I. for artificial limbs to optimize control and fluidity of movement, to finding new molecules in medicine and better disease recognition before they become a problem.
