It can create, look up what GPT4 or midjourney can do right now, and realize those are the worst they will ever be. The worry is that the machine will be simply better than humans at achieving any given goal. Going from "superior to humans in any activity" to taking over the world doesn't seem particularly unlikely, as having power would help achieve any goal the AI might have.
