Neuromorphic computing will not significantly change the big problems with self-driving cars. It can make perception more energy efficient and help with event based sensors but it does not solve the core issues. Mapping the entire changing world remains basically impossible. Long tail edge cases like weird construction unpredictable humans or rare situations still need high level reasoning that neuromorphic chips do not magically fix. The heavy reliance on remote human operators for when the AI gets stuck would likely stay the same. This is a useful hardware improvement for efficiency but not the breakthrough that suddenly makes full robotaxis work everywhere. The fundamental challenges of real world messiness and safety validation are still there. It is an incremental step at best not a game changer.
