@KaLaka16Exactly! Functionally the same is an important distinction. I've imagined that AI would be essentially an alien intelligence. Because they are not sharing the same physiology as us and their thoughts would be structured differently.
But being able to ''reason'' and be functionally the same is in many ways, already there.
I'm still curious if an AI can collapse a quantum uncertainty field like human consciousness can. If so, I think it would be hard not to argue that it is conscious.
