@Patti2002-b5t It uses the art in the first place without artists’ consent. The stolen artwork is still in the database, and future AI will probably still use it. It might “learn” it, but how was it learnt in the first place? Think of it as a mosaic. The AI kind of rips apart pieces of artwork and is trained to learn how it looks so it can “paste” it onto a new “canvas”. So technically, it still does “use” artwork. Even if it doesn’t as heavily rely on it like how it did in the beginning. Artists aren’t angry at AI being used, but rather how artwork is taken WITHOUT CONSENT to help train AI. And on top of that, some AI “artists” have applied to companies with portfolios full of AI generated work. Are you starting to see the issue here? They mostly have been caught because obviously they cannot modify artwork properly for the company’s need, but the fact that another artist’s job was taken in the first place is frustrating. Please watch the entire video to actually understand how frustrated artists are.
