I was in a leadership workshop with my job. One of the speakers was saying how we should take advantage of the AI tools the companies provide because it helps you save time with things such as writing emails. You can prompt it to write something for you in a professional tone etc, and you don’t have to waste your time composing and thinking about it. My first thought was, so AI will make people dumber? You’re going to stop using your brain for the sake of efficiency and never learn to hone a very important skill? Or maybe in someone like her case, she will lose a skill she’s honed because it’s all of a sudden too much work to spend brain power on a task that’s now deemed menial. It’s a dangerous and slippery slope.
