But you have to contend with the fact that the vast majority of AI art *does* have the braindead intentionality of: "now the means of production is no longer owned by a monopoly of a talented few. (read: people who worked hard to hone their skills). Now I can sell this product, either for monetary capital or social capital, like popularity on a social media platform." It's pathetic and it's the root of this social issue. Anyone trying to deflect the conversation into whether "intentionality in art" is actually important is only serving to help bury this part of the problem. It's a worthy topic to discuss on its own merits, but not now, not at this moment. You cannot ignore this happening; there are far fewer pieces of non-intentional, procedurally generated beauty that you're examining than what AI "art" is now. I contend that it's VERY useful to center the conversation around intentionality, because it's the very best filter for the hundreds of hack-frauds that have this production-obsessed intention in between the words of the very prompts that they type. Their intention is to use the plagiarism machines so that they too can have the hand-made art they covet and sell on their patreon access.
