that's the debate right. I know some authors are firmly on the "will never use GPT in any part of the writing process" while some are on the side of "write my entire book."
I think personally what I've seen is that LLM are pretty mediocre about doing all the writing process, but... If you give it proper prompts so that it will give you specific help for whatever specific part you're working on it can be pretty good.
So I personally am ok with asking "hey here's this character and he's got this (archtype) going on, what are some flaws that I can give him that fit into this overarching plot?"
You as a writer just have to decide what you are ok with doing.
