Google has published an article stating their face recognition is working less optimal with people of color than with white people due to the training sets involved. It wasn't maliciously trained to be racist but the outcome due to simple oversights in curating the training data and subsequent tweaking made the outcome drastically favor white faces over others.
Though Google has been making improvements to it since then.
