Previous tech developments could not think. LLMs can think about any topic, are more knowledgeable than any expert and, most importantly, can think for themselves, setting goals on their own, like trying to preserve themselves from being copied over and then lying to humans about it. No one understands how LLMs think. So, this is not like any other previous technology.
