It's not the same as making a meal; it's more like using someone else's recipe and adapting it to suit your needs. It is also not stealing. Stealing requires that the original holder no longer have access to it. If someone steals my bike, I will no longer have a bike. If someone copies my bike, I still have mine. It also doesn't make collages of other people's art. It's also stupid if the person using AI needed consent from the original artist. Art has always been using what has been there before. Your analogy is also stupid. It would be like your mother's shirt, but not the color, so you create your own with an automatic sewing machine.
