@zilvente Again, as with Penrose, you make an assertion as if it's a fact, but offer no justification, evidence or support for the idea that intelligence requires consciousness. Why do you believe that? You've offered nothing but a premise and are pretending it's a conclusion. If an automated system displayed all of the external signs of being intelligent what method would you use to determine that it was conscious? How can you determine whether another human is conscious? Ask them? Is a "yes" response sufficient? I don't accept your premise. Convince me.
