Yes dude. I feel bad for ai artists but also don’t. I don’t feel bad for the ones that straight up steal other peoples art because that’s just wrong. Same with saying artists will be replaced or that a machine can just as easily create art. I feel bad however for those that make ai art because they’re not confident in their own abilities. Bro _im_ not confident in my ability. I hold myself back from making things I wanna make ALL THE TIME. but I still know that the way to get better is to practice. Not to give up and use a machine to create for me. You can do it. No one was born with the ability to draw. If I may quote Arin Hanson, “do you think I was drawing Mozart right out the pussy?” My art was really shit for a long time, and imho still is. But it’s so much better decades later. 16 year old me would kill to draw like I do now and it’s not even good lol. It’s just better and I’ll continue to get better, the more that I draw. That being said I have no issue using ai to assist in making art. I’ve used ai generated images before to help me come up with compositions for pieces because I have a hard time thinking about my composition, or even ideas. But the final product never includes anything ai generated, only the loose idea. Ai should be used to help, not to do the work for us.
