My immediate thought back when AI-art started getting popular was "what a cool thing it is for tabletop RPG enjoyers"!
I always thought of it just as a tool to add some flare to homebrew stuff and be it in somewhat consistent style.
Then there are video game mods that replace character portrais (if not all textures) with AI-recreated ones at higher resolution so it's easier on our modern eyes.
But of course, charlatans like Shad (*sighs* he used to be such a cool creator...) can't help but ruin it for everyone.
(also r34 content pollution due to ai-generated stuff is unforgivable).
