Im glad that this is getting legal precedence. For me the issue is not that its generated by AI per se, but its that the AI uses stolen artwork under the guise that its purely for academic purposes. No, you should not be able to sell mashups of other peoples art without paying royalties, and if thats impossible because AI doesnt keep track of credits, then tough luck, you should have thought about that.
