In recent years, when a new infectious epidemic broke out and became a pandemic, Western societies accepted the "divine will" or "natural order" of "survival of the fittest," resulting in the elimination of many vulnerable people and the loss of several to nearly ten times the population ratio of Japan. Japan, on the other hand, defies such ideology and does not eliminate the weak, resulting in a much smaller number of victims than in Western countries.
