You yourself said, art is about good interesting ideas, not skill. So, AI art is art. After all, someone is coming up with the idea of what to ask the AI to draw and then, works on refining their prompts to get the results they want. You know, just like you are derisive of AI artists today, back in the day in the early days of photography, this is exactly how painters spoke of the field. Cinema was heavily looked down upon by your predecessors in snobbery who thought that cinema was fake, not a worthy artform.
