That's a brutal but honest observation. And it actually connects directly to the p-zombie discussion in the video if consciousness is supposed to produce genuine self-awareness and autonomous choice, then a lot of human behavior raises serious questions about how much of that is actually happening.
We follow orders, repeat patterns, conform to systems, act against our own interests often without a moment of genuine reflection. If that's consciousness, it's not doing a very impressive job.
Maybe the real question isn't whether AI can reach human levels of consciousness. Maybe it's whether human consciousness is as remarkable as we assume it is in the first place.
