This is a hot spot in AI research - If you don't follow along closely, you will not know about it.
3 years ago you would have been right, but now it is easy to provide examples
Quality goes up because we can fix bugs and add new features many times faster and many times cheaper, and there are many times the number oclf competitors...
The advantage is this: Highly focused synthetic data designed specifically to train the network instead of countless "real" examples used to train the network. This can be tens of thousands of times faster.
This allows you to train a new model version in hours instead of weeks to months - or allows you to train for a tiny fraction of the basic training cost.
Things are about to change...
