That's the problem. Assuming that the data sets are biased is itself a potential source of bias. We know that people are not the same. We know that different cultures and social systems have different behavior patterns. It would be unreasonable to assume that an AI was not picking up on those differences in its computation.
Assuming it's always bias if you get different results will prevent us from asking the really interesting question "why". That could reveal a lot of interesting and useful data that could actually help improve lives rather than just pretending that everyone is identical in every way.
