In regards to copyright, fair use, etc, I don't think this interpretation is correct (based at least off of watching videos from copyright lawyers like Leonard French/Lawful Masses, albeit - IANAL) in that the matter is competing **for the access to the original work whose rights are allegedly being infringed.** - if it were just "competing" period, that would open up a hell of a can of worms in terms of its impact on competition and creation in general.
