Absolutely, I am skipping past a lot of nuance, but I was trying to address the arguments they think they are making rather than the actual nuance of the luddite movement. Basically I wanted to steel man their arguments in order for my arguments against what they are trying to say to have more merit. If I were to go into nuance about the luddite movement frankly I think it would go over most of the Ai bros heads and they'd just end up thinking "oh he just hates technological development". It would come across more as trying to justify, in their minds, stopping technological progress to save "redundant" jobs rather than just shutting down their argument entirely.
