I have made similar observations, but I don't think they actually mean what they say. I think they're more aiming to get on people's nerves.
The sort of people who do that look more like they got into ai due to their dislike of artists and not the other way around. It seems to take root in Tumblr stereotypes and citations of community toxicity among artists.
