There is a difference worth noting between photography and AI Art, though: You can still distinguish a photograph from a painting even if the lainting is of the realism genre. You can't do the same between an AI inage and whatever media it is trying to replicate.
Also, the backlash against photography in the 1800's is extremely exaggerated by modern popular narrative either way.
