I'm not completely sure to what extent it will be easier... Yes, in the application of medical science, it will certainly be easier for those with the expertise to do their work. I'm not really sure how ethical it is to have people gain less expertise and knowledge in a domain and still work their, rather, I have heard that those who are proponents of AI making work easier, encourage those in their work to be even better and have even more expertise.
If you have a better calculator, you should only learn more to be able to use all of its functions, otherwise, all those newly-added function will be irrelevant. Or imagine working with statistics that you cannot fully comprehend. Even if our statistical models are getting more and more complicated, qualified researchers should be able to master all that their research topic would necessitate (in many cases, far beyond what they actually do). Don't forget, that AI is just a tool, the experts are the ones that make the decisions.
