Capitalism and democracy are both negotiation systems. But if the masses brings no bargaining chip — no labor, no skill, no utility — what is left to negotiate?
If AI is open, decentralized, and governed by public-interest frameworks, then the masses may still retain a stake. But if it is privatized, closed, and aligned with elite interest, then we risk becoming obsolete in the eyes of the machine’s masters.
