we don't hate AI, but we hate that AI is being used to steal from us and enable other people who have no relation or affiliation to us and do not respect art or the law to start using our works and our reputations for themselves, this is not only plagiarism and intellectual property theft, but is also at risk of causing fraud, forgery and identity theft on a massive scale. if we cant trust our own laws to protect us against copyright theft then the market collapses. right now after the postmortem of covid, art is literally the most stable investment platform in the world, but if AI art is allowed to pilfer and desecrate its way across the market then not only does it devalue everything but it destroys the reputations and identities of artists around the world as posers and fakes steal our identities and our works for themselves in what could be considered as the biggest heist of the century. calling this "data-laundering" is very accurate but at the same time it is a gross understatement. AI has a clear place in the industry for referencing, post processing, geometric/vector/fractal art, backgrounds, etc. if used legally and responsibly, but right now its being used in an irresponsible, highly illegal, and extremely dystopian way that is threatening to jeopardize the security provided by national and international copyright laws for artists and enables total strangers to perform high level identity thefts of artists, influencers, professionals, celebrities, and even politicians, on a whim. if people fail to see the danger it poses on every digital industry if misused in this manner, then by the time we try to do anything about it on a legislative level it will already be too late.
