Researcher/data analyst here. I'm horrified to see people starting to use AI tools for analyzing data without even looking at the dataset or applying any critical thinking whatsoever. It's fast, it makes pretty diagrams, AND you don't need to know any maths to do it, right?? Perfect! Oh, I get wanting to speed things up, but I've done my own experimenting with AI, and I've seen it make totally stupid mistakes even with the simplest stuff, such as writing a summary that is diametrically opposite to the diagram it created or being unable to summarize descriptive statistics correctly (which I was able to catch, because I knew my data and was intentionally checking its abilities). I hate that people don't care, and I'm very worried that, soon, businesses will start pushing for this sort of thing to become the norm. I mean, we're already being pushed to use AI-generated interview participants instead of, you know, asking real people, so why not this?
