Don't believe the characterization of OpenAI as a kid's tool for homework & birthday cards - that's WAY off the mark. OpenAI's GPT4+, Anthropic's Claude3, and Google's Gemini 1.5 fight for top honors daily. Mistral (a French company) is in fourth, but not very far behind. Gemini 1.5 doesn't appear in the huggingface lmsys leaderboard, but it's much smarter than Gemini (1.0) Pro that does appear on the list, possibly smarter than both GPT4 & Claude.
