This is like the worst report i have seen in a long time. Dont get me wrong, you have to keep your promise and advertising not fully reliable systems is not right (the video is right with "better safe than sorry", more sensors are better) and blurrying incident data is also not the way it should be. 1. But as a european I have to say, that the whole highway situation looks horrible - no light for work on the highway, no warning signs - just some dudes stopping on the middle of the road. I mean as a driver watching the video I would have crashed too and I have been driving for 10 years. 2. Other than that is "someone will die with this technology" a complete nonsense comment. That was never the point of the technology, the correct assessment is a comparison between human driving mistakes and non human driving mistakes and elon musk is completely right with the argument that it is moderating the amounts of accidents and that autonomous driving is lowering the accident rate, that is clear majority of research opinion and i have written a bachelor thesis on autonomous driving. 3. And now to the whole level 2 autonomous driving type of stuff - level 2 is never meant to drive you fully automatic without keeping an eye on the road - so misusing this tech and then calling out Tesla for the cars is stupid. 4. If you ever want to call something out it is this overcomplication from car manufacturers of digital parts in a mechanical car. Relying on only digital parts is completely unnecessary and the only benefit is keeping the control over the maintainance. Autonomous features have to be integrated digitally and that is quite fine, but its solved on a useless scale. Nonetheless I am neither a fan of Tesla nor have I planned on buying a Tesla or any other autonomous driving car.
