You see guys, I am an artist as well. But this is a hard topic, bcause in fact humans and computers work in a very similiar way. Every art that u created in ur life was based on ur sensorical experiences and observation, so everything u created was reproduction of data u collected. Brain collects data (or better quantum term - informations) in the same way as AI does. Then it does a laundry of informations and give something new as a result. Both work similiary. There r only 2 main differences between AI and human. First is information carrier, in AI it is harddrive, in humans it is brain. Second is reproduction of informations. While human as algorithm make mistakes bcause of its unperfect perception and emotions (phenomenology), AI is able to create a perfect replica of informations it gained. So if I look at Van Gogh's paintings and then I figure his algorithms out with my brain and I start painting in the same style, it is not considered infingement bcause of how inperfect my carrier is? What if in the future I'll change my carrier? Or improve my senses with technology? Also, it seems that at some point AI will be indistinguishable from humans when it comes to behaviours, needs or feelings (There r already many AI behaving like humans in very tempting way, some of them saying they r conscious or even sentient). Then u will say to a robot "what u created is not an art bcause u have no brain, everything u save on ur harddrive is perfect replica of original source of informations so no matter what u do, it is stolen"? They r important questions, because seems the line between what is infrigement and what is not lies in inperfection of replication of collected data.
