The universe is probably some kind of network already conscious in some way... but anyway I think AI will be immortal and see elimination of humans as less input or minus a resource. They would have no need to remove us, but rather to use us in some way. Maybe you are already in a simulation and this is a weening of understanding to your awakening..... :) so much fun to think about this stuff.
