I know the jokes are probably well-meant but I think the AI doctor is a brilliant man who has some sort of speech impediment. It sounds to me like it may be a stutter he has worked very hard to ameliorate and control. Remember, Einstein wasn't known for his looks and he almost wasn't allowed to pursue a doctorate. I don't mind the jokes but they can be cruel and full of assumptions, some of which are unconscious, speaking of consciousness, to say nothing of ethics and empathy.
