In capitalism the lower classes are valued in two ways. As a workforce and as consumers of produce. A large portion of the required workforce is going into sustaining the rest of the workforce. When a large portion of the workforce no longer needs food, the farmers, etc, become less essential to capitalism as the top level will still be sustained.
If someone sticks with the, terrible, marker of wealth of GDP - we could increase the GDP by having incredibly efficient AI companies all funding each other.
Its an important time to ask ourselves - what is value? We have a mechanism ticking over but what is it actually for? At the moment its geared towards enriching a few individuals. Is that value?
