My brother was told his department was going to be made redundant because of AI. So half of the staff left pretty quickly. Turns out the AI didn't work and needed human intervention and now half the staff have left there isn't enough people to do it and those left are working harder than ever. My industry, transcription, should be dead by now, but lo and behold, it isn't because AI just isn't good enough ... yet. We will go, but it won't be now. Luckily I want to retire in three years, so I might just make it.
