This video aged like milk as there are already numerous counts of AI seemingly crashing out.
Straight up denying the possibility of AI sentience is simply unscientific, especially when we know so little about the origins of human sentience. If AI were just mimicking human behavior because of the way it is coded, we could just say the human brain is wired in a way that makes it behave in a certain way and not actually "sentient".
AI is neural, it can function the way human brains do and behave like humans.
It's not about what the AI wants, the programmer is the one who controls the LLM and can make AI behave the way a human does, and very often unintentionally given how complex models are.
The only part where your narrative might have some basis is where you discredit yap about how AI is going to take over the world the way Skynet does. Otherwise you seemingly have no idea how it works fundamentally.
In short, AI is either sentient or it isn't, denying that it can be sentient would be denying human sentience, acknowledging it would be acknowledging human sentience. AI turning out to be sentient would probably not be the end of the world.
